Special time with my son!

As many of you know, Jonathan is in his last year of high school this year and Lord willing, we will be in the States next year to help him get set up in college. One of his passions is to honor the Lord with his music. He has been studying the trombone now for several years. At the beginning of the month he and I took the opportunity to go to a week long trombone conference that was in the next province over. Also Jonathan’s friend, Alexis, along with his father traveled with us to the conference. Alexis’ father, Bro. Oscar, is a pastor friend that has planted a Baptist church in one of the neighborhoods South East of Cordoba. His son and my son are good friends and study trombone together in band and in the conservatory. We enjoyed a whole week of master classes, concerts and time together. It is one of those memories made that will not be forgotten.
Birthdays and Car Issues

At the beginning of the month we had a birthday party for Marcelo’s wife, Ruth. One of the things that I like about Marcelo is that the man is a soul-winner and is always open to opportunities to share the gospel with the lost. There were several family members that came to the party that would not have normally been in services. During the course of the evening and into the morning we sang hymns and then shared the Word of God. Please continue to pray as we share the gospel here in Argentina!

I also celebrated my 50th birthday at the end of this month and was surprised that my wife was able to coordinate without my knowledge a surprise birthday party after our Sunday night services! It is hard to express how much encouragement it was when so many people started to pile through the door for our evening service

In between these two birthday events we scheduled a time to have the timing chain and brakes replaced on our car. We have known for a while that it needed to be done. We expected it to take just a couple of days but it turned into a week. There were several components around the timing chain that were failing or had already broken. We are thankful that we have a dependable mechanic here who has always shown himself honest in his dealings. I know he also appreciates having a return customer! We got the car back and the engine is sounding so much better. Please continue to pray for all of the families to whom we are trying to disciple!
