Sunday, April 4th, we visited Nevill’s Chapel Baptist Church for our first deputation appointment after Scott resigned his pastorate at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Our appointments at this point have been to primarily see if someone would consider being our sending church.
That Saturday evening we pulled our travel trailer to their trailer hook-up spot and took the kids to Sunday School. Everyone was so nice to our family and we enjoyed the services.
That morning we were blessed to witness the baptism of Bro. Griffith’s grandson and to hear Bro. Griffith preach.
That afternoon we had dinner with Bro. Findley and were able to hear how God has been working in Nevill’s Chapel. We were also able to share what God has been doing in our lives and our plans are on the field.
We went back to Nevill’s Chapel for their evening services and Scott presented our burden to go to Argentina to start new churches throughout the country. Currently we have no churches or mission works from the American Baptist Association in Argentina.
Last Sunday night, April 11, as we were driving to the World Mission Seminar, we received a call from the pastor announcing that the church voted that night to be our sending church.
We now have a sending church! We are so blessed to have a church with such a heart for missions to come along side us and send us to Argentina. What great news to be able to share with our friends at the World Mission Seminar. We are now at a new level of preparing to go.
We are starting an email list for our monthly newsletter that we will be preparing to send out May 1st. We would love for you to sign up to follow us on our journey.
