Please pray for our first time visitors and regular attenders

It feels as if it has been a very long month.  When I look back on the photos from the month and the events that took place, I realize that it was a long month.  We have had two first time visitors to our Wednesday night service, David and Fernandez.  Please pray for them both of them are needing to restructure their lives.  I had a really good talk with both of them.  Both of them had struggled with addiction.  One of them had hit bottom and looked upward.  Not so sure about the other one.  He needs the Lord.  I hope to see them more.  David said that he had plans to come back as he would like to seek the Lord.  Our Wednesday night service can be quite an adventure as you never really know what to expect.  A couple of weeks ago there was a large neighborhood fight taking place in the street next door to where we were meeting.  There were at least thirty people involved all hitting each other.  People need the Lord!

We have also had several visitors to our Sunday night service.  There is a young man in his twenties named Bryan that has been coming every service for the last month. He has problems.  He needs Jesus.  Some of the Sundays, he is sober, others he is not.  We have been trying to show the love of Christ to him.  We feel that whether or not the message gets through to him, the neighbors, at least, see our kind treatment of him and are impacted.  One of the Sundays, we were pleased to have Abel visit in our service.  He is a professional trumpet player for the Cordoba Symphonic.  I think that he enjoyed getting to play the hymns with my kids.  Jonathan, who had invited him was very happy that he not only said he would come, but he actually came.  My kids have invited several to come since we have been in this location. It can be disappointing when there is no response.

One phone call that I received was from Hugo. (pictured above)  He has never been to one of our services since we began in the location where we are on Sunday nights.  He was one that we met from 2019 when we were meeting every Sunday in the plaza of Alta Cordoba. At the time he was a bread vendor in the plaza that would stop and talk to us and ask questions. Before the pandemic I was meeting with him personally every Tuesday night to try to share the Lord with him.  Though we have had many discussions of the Gospel, I am still convinced that he does not completely understand God’s simple plan of salvation through grace, apart from works.  He called me one Sunday and told me that he planned on being there that evening.  He told me that since I had invited him so many times in the past that he decided to come.  Please pray for him and his wife, Susana.  Especially pray for our normal attenders as they have been out a lot lately.  They have been on our minds and hearts a lot this last month as we pray for them to make good decisions and to seek the Lord first.

We also had a couple visit for the first time at the very end of May of which we had a couple of very good conversations even though it appears that nothing had come of it.  The Lord knows now and we will know in eternity!
