Three more souls saved this month and 11 baptized!

Gloria, Carlos, and Franco Saved!

It was a great blessing to be able to lead Marcelo’s brother, Carlos, to the Lord after our Wednesday night service! We talked that night until around 11:30 PM when, with tears in his eyes, he prayed to be saved. The following Sunday, we had the great privilege of leading Carlos’ wife Gloria, and their foster son, Franco, to the Lord!
Robes for Baptism

One of the needs that we had to prepare for before the baptism service was having robes made. I understand that it is not a scriptural mandate to have a robe, but having robes solves a lot of problems. For one it helps greatly with reference to modesty. In the neighborhood where we are working, some do not have extra clothes for changing into afterwards. It is common for people to want to wear white for the baptism symbolizing purity in the culture. You can imagine the problem of people wearing white clothes coming out of the water without a robe! It turned out to be an excellent decision! It not only helped logistically as well as providing great group photo but it also provided us with the opportunity to visit the family in Malvinas Argentinas where we previously had a Bible Study a few years back. The wife is a seamstress and did an amazing job. She made 15 robes in just two days! Pray for them as they are currently not attending anywhere but have expressed a desire to fix that area of their lives. Also, we are now ready with good robes for future baptismal services.
The Lord is much stronger than the Devil!

The day before the baptisms there was a water line break which resulted in a pool full of mud! Early Sunday morning Marcelo sent me the picture of the muddy pool. We had the baptisms planned for 7:00 in the evening! It took the whole day but Marcelo and his family were able to clean the pool and have it sufficiently filled in time. It was the first time for me to baptize a person sitting all the way down.
When you are thrown problems and challenges, you must meet them and work through them. The devil has been resisting this from the beginning but the Lord has continued to bless! It is such an encouragement to see individuals growing in the Lord and making decisions for Him and then sticking to them, even when it is tough!
